STRATEGIC PLAN
This is a more thorough breakdown of your dream book into quantifiable objectives to be achieved by a certain quarter.

It is absolutely imperative for any long term achievement to have a long term
or strategic plan in place. This examines your skills, your objectives,
What you want, how much effort you will put in. Also how much
Money you have, what guidance you need, whether to include business Partners or not.

Personally I like to plan on a yearly basis and then divide it down
Into quarters. When it says “must do’s” I mean these objectives are NOT
Negotiable - I will do these things come hell or high water.
Don’t be afraid to re-evaluate objectives throughout the year, add new ones,
Remove ones that are unlikely, not working or no longer applicable due to
changing priorities. Above all be flexible, but have clear goals.
(I also add items ready to carry forward to the next year).

Your strategic plan should be dynamic, and change, because our
Lives change all the time. This does NOT mean however that you
avoid your objectives, remember these are “MUST DO’s”.
This strategic planning process will absolutely help you attain your
business, personal and Life Goals. Too much watching TV will not help you realize your goals.
Example
YEAR 2008 OBJECTIVES - MUST DO’s
OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION DONE
QUARTER 1
Objective 1
Objective 2
Objective 3
Objective 4
QUARTER 2

Objective 2
Objective 3
Objective 4
QUARTER 3

Objective 3
Objective 4

QUARTER 4

Objective 2
Objective 3
Objective 4
Once you have attain your quarterly goal then tick the box, this will make you feel good. Having a strategic objective will also make you feel in be in charge of of your life.

Homework
Stop reading now and sketch out an yearly strategy for your business,
It doesn’t matter if its Cluttered, with lots of crossings out etc, what is important is that You HAVE DONE IT. This is an indication of WORK ETHIC, which Will be discussed later.
Optional - Tactical Plan - For those who need one
Tactical Planning is the day to day responsibilities needed to conform your strategic plan. Below is a example daily workplan with suggested tasks though it is completely up to you what you put into your daily tactical plan. It should have structure and fit in with your energy levels at particular times, and because these are different for different people you ought to know yourself what things you are good at, at particular times of the day. For instance my best time for inventive and technical work is the morning, say 6AM to midday. (Though I have been known to start at 4AM). Lunchtime I do administration responsibilities such as dealing with post, email, telephone calls, etc and in the afternoon I do work of a less technical or demanding nature.
Work according to your body’s rhythm’s

Some people do their best work at 2 o’clock in the morning, fine, structure your tactical plan around this. Below is an example, alter this to suit your own working manner.

Remember, getting up one hour earlier every day will give you an additional 5 hours per week, 20 hours per month and 240 hours per year, that’s an extra 30 days per year productive effort in your business! (If you feel worn-out go to bed one hour earlier).

Saying some positive affirmations, first thing in the morning, will get you in a positive state of mind to get you going and get off on the right track. Saying things like “Todays going to be a wonderful day”, is giving your subconscious a straight command to have a terrific day, and it will do every thing in its control to attain it.

Note: Please add your own activities these are only suggestions

NOTES

Focus
Focus is your ability to narrow in on your objectives and work, your ability to focus, and work undistracted, notwithstanding infuriating disturbances.

It is helpful if you have an area of your home, like a study, where you can focus, undisturbed, on your business. With the door shut. A corner of the kitchen table with the kids running around screaming is not an idyllic setup.

Please enlighten clearly to your husband that while in your office you ‘are working’. This does not signify you are available to do all the odd jobs that have stacked up. These can put off until the weekend. You need to be focused and disciplined if you are to make progress. Millionaires are very focused on their goals, they are not unfocused. Their energies are entirely focused on the assignment in hand, and will not stop until it is concluded.
